The Future Of Decks | How Does Sharkstooth Work? | Sharkstooth Overcomes Traditional Deck Fastening Problems

HOW DOES SHARKSTOOTH WORK?

The shoulder of the Sharkstooth sits on the edge of the joist, supporting the decking board and taking the downward load. This feature also provides a 1.2mm ventilation gap between the joist and decking board, allowing air to circulate.

The riser mount (neck) for the teeth acts as a spacer, creating a consistent, even gap between decking boards.

The teeth secure the decking by penetrating into the side of the boards. This side fixing of Sharkstooth is designed to cope with lateral movement caused by swelling and shrinkage.

Sharkstooth is fixed horizontally to the side of the joist by a stainless steel nail (provided).
